About Us
Welcome to PARASOL
PARASOL, (Pembroke And Region Association For The Sanctity of Life), was initiated in 2024 by the Pembroke Area Clergy Association and has recently become its own entity by gaining incorporation status. We are a diverse association of Christian traditions, medical professionals, and concerned community members united to promote the sanctity of life in our region. We believe that human life is a sacred gift from God, inherently valuable from conception to natural death.
Our Mission
PARASOL seeks to influence and advocate for social awareness of the sanctity of life through instruction, compassionate support, and community involvement. Our goal is to demonstrate through both word and deed that all human life has inherent worth and dignity, regardless of age, ability, or circumstances. We strongly support universally accessible, high-quality palliative care, and friendship support for those facing death and dying.
To Achieve Our Goals
• Foster a holistic circle of care that honours and addresses physical, social, mental, and spiritual needs while respecting all persons.
• Publish informative materials in collaboration with other pro-life organizations.
• Host events, and speak as invited to provide information and instruction on the Biblical viewpoint of the sanctity of life.
• Recruit, mobilize, and train volunteers to support individuals and their families facing end-of-life.
Our Stance Against Assisted Suicide
We stand firmly against the use of medical means to assist in dying. A recent government report indicates that over 86% of those seeking assistance to die do so due to a lack of meaningful activities and a sense of significance, not physical pain. We believe the universal ban on assisted suicide should be legally reaffirmed to uphold our societal commitment to the inviolability of human life.
